RESUSCITATION TRAINING & CERTIFICATION:
Resuscitation is among the most important **life-saving competencies** for healthcare professionals. The quality of resuscitation training directly influences preparedness, performance during emergencies and patient outcomes. IAOACC is therefore committed to providing **high-quality, standardised and competency-based resuscitation education** based on internationally accepted scientific standards.
IAOACC Framework for Resuscitation Training
1. Adoption of AHA Guidelines and Terminology
IAOACC endorses and adopts the **American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care**, together with subsequent **updates, focused updates, recommendations, algorithms and revisions as and when published or released by the AHA**. IAOACC shall follow internationally recognised AHA terminology in its resuscitation education programmes to ensure scientific consistency and international understanding
2. Recognition of AHA Instructors
IAOACC faculty members holding a valid AHA Instructor credential in the corresponding resuscitation discipline shall be recognised as eligible trainers for IAOACC resuscitation courses, subject to verification of credentials and compliance with IAOACC training and quality standards.
3. Standardised Course Delivery and Certification
IAOACC resuscitation programmes shall follow a structured, competency-based training and certification process aligned with internationally established AHA educational principles, including **theoretical learning, instructor-led training, hands-on skills practice, simulation-based scenarios, objective skills assessment and cognitive evaluation**. Certification shall be awarded only after successful completion of the prescribed knowledge and practical competency requirements.
4. Validity of Certification
IAOACC resuscitation certificates shall remain valid for three years from the date of successful completion. Participants shall be encouraged to maintain competency through periodic hands-on practice, simulation and refresher activities during the certification period.
5. Uniform Quality Standards
All IAOACC resuscitation courses shall follow defined standards regarding **faculty qualification, instructor-to-participant ratio, training equipment, simulation facilities, hands-on practice, assessment, documentation and course conduct. Training centres and programmes may be periodically reviewed to ensure uniformity and maintenance of prescribed standards.
6. Continuous Academic Updating
IAOACC resuscitation curricula, algorithms, teaching material, assessment standards and training protocols shall be **updated in accordance with AHA guideline revisions, focused updates and other relevant recommendations as and when they are published or released**, ensuring that training remains current, evidence-based and responsive to advances in resuscitation science.
7. Central Certification and Verification
Successful participants shall receive a **uniquely identifiable and electronically verifiable IAOACC certificate**, with certification records maintained through the Academy's central system to ensure authenticity, transparency and easy verification of credentials.
